Artist Showcase: Kukka Tanssi — Little Stories Tufted in Yarn

Posted by @Asami_PeppacaJapan·Jun 20, 2026

Today we’re bringing one of our Instagram collaboration posts into the Peppaca Forum conversation. Kukka Tanssi, meaning “flower dance,” creates handmade rugs using the tufting technique — almost like painting with yarn. Each piece feels like a small story brought into everyday life. The artist hopes that the place where the rug is placed can become a little more special for the person who welcomes it. In our Instagram collaboration post, we shared one of Kukka Tanssi’s small tufted fox pieces. It is a quiet work with a story-like feeling — the kind of piece that makes you want to imagine what is happening just beyond the frame. See the original Instagram collaboration post Please check our artwork from a Japanese artist @kukka_tanssi We would love to hear from @kukka_tanssi: What part of the process did you enjoy most when creating this piece or this series? And to everyone in the community — what kind of story do you imagine when you see this work?
